DESCRIPTION

Evaluation of lung inflammatory and infectious activity.

PREPARATION

  • No previous preparation is needed.
  • No fasting is required.
  • Patient must return 48 hours later for the imaging session.

INDICATIONS

  • Diagnosis and localization of pulmonary infections.
  • Evaluation of pulmonary interstitial infections (specifically, sarcoidosis and fibrosis).
  • Evaluation of AIDS patients.

DESCRIPTION

  • Quantification of regional pulmonary blood flow.

PREPARATION

  • No previous preparation is needed.
  • No fasting is required.

INDICATIONS

  • Diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE).
  • Study of regional pulmonary perfusion.
  • If it is quantified:
    • Quantification of bilateral and regional pulmonary perfusion.
    • Quantification of left-right short circuits.
    • Quantification of systemic short circuit secondary to pulmonary arteriovenous fistulae or right-left cardiac shunt.
  • Pre-surgical evaluation in case of pulmonary neoplasia, transplants, etc.

DESCRIPTION

  • It can not be performed in patients with assisted breathing.

INDICATIONS

  • Diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE).
  • Study of obstructive pulmonary pathology, BNCO, COPD, emphysema, noise and bronchiectasis.
  • Evaluation of lungs regional ventilation.
  • If quantified: pre-surgical evaluation in cases of pulmonary neoplasia, transplants, etc.

30 minutes.

VENTILATION LUNG SCINTIGRAPHY

DESCRIPTION

  • Evaluation of pulmonary regional ventilation.
  • Quantification of regional pulmonary ventilation.

DESCRIPTION

Evaluation of somatostatin receptors activity in lung tumors.

PREPARATION

  • No previous preparation required.

  • The patient will remain in fasting during the procedure.

  • No scans with barium or iodine contrast should be performed during the procedure.

INDICATIONS

Evaluation of tumors that express somatostatin receptors (extension study, follow-up, control of therapeutic response and recurrence detection): neuroendocrine tumors, such as carcinoid, lung cancer, etc.
