CATALOG OF SPECIALTIES
Oncology
Oncology is the medical specialty that studies tumors and cancerous pathologies.
Nuclear Medicine allows diagnostic tests of great importance in cancer pathology, for the detection and determination of the extent of the cancerous disease, its relapses, the assessment of the response to treatment and its follow-up.
Detail of offered services here…
Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET-CT)
It is the metabolic and anatomical study of the body through the combination of computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET) with a PET-CT hybrid device that allows images of the two techniques to be obtained at the same time, without moving the patient and with fusion of both images, to help doctors evaluate the correct function of organs and tissues, providing more accurate information and more accurate diagnoses, in the fields of oncology, cardiology, neurology and vascular and infectious pathology.
Detail of offered services here…
Radioguided surgery
Radioguided surgery includes the application of specific radiodetecting probes, guided by our specialists in Nuclear Medicine, to a surgery for the rapid localization and removal of the desired tissue, previously marked with an injected radiopharmaceutical, and thus ensure that the surgeon removes what really is You need to remove.
This technique allows to perform surgeries with less time, less aggressive, with less cormobility, and more specific, respecting healthy tissues.
It highlights the detection of the sentinel node and the location of parathyroid adenomas, among others.
Detail of offered services here…
Cardiology
Cardiology is the branch of medicine that studies the conditions of the heart and circulatory system.
Our studies of nuclear cardiology allow us to assess myocardial perfusion and function, indirectly study coronary pathology, the existence of ischemia and necrosis of myocardial walls, as well as studies of prosthetic and vascular infection.
Detail of offered services here…
Osteoarticular Pathology
Nuclear medicine helps to detect different bone pathological conditions such as osteoporosis, primary bone cancer, bone metastases, osteoarthritis and arthritis, sports and traumatic pathology and the study of bone prostheses, among others.
Detail of offered services offered here…
Nephrourology
Nephrourology is the specialty of medicine that studies the renal and genitourinary system.
Nephrourological isotopic studies allow non-invasive assessment of the renal function under different aspects, being able to diagnose pyelonephritis, obstructive uropathy symptoms, complications in cases of renal transplantation, and cortical abnormalities, among others.
Radiopharmaceuticals also have application in the palliative treatment of pain due to prostate cancer metastasis in bones (see Metabolic Therapy).
Detail of offered services here…
Neurology
Neurology is the medical branch that studies nervous system disorders.
Nuclear medicine techniques are useful in the diagnosis of different brain pathologies, especially dementias, vascular alterations, epilepsies and diseases that affect neurotransmitters, such as Parkinson’s disease. They are also useful for the study of different psychiatric disorders.
Detail of offered services here…
Endocrinology
Endocrinology is the medical branch that studies the alterations of the endocrine system and hormonal secretion.
Nuclear Medicine provides diagnostic and therapeutic services in the field of Endocrinology, from the detection and measurement of the location and functioning of the endocrine glands to the treatment of endocrine diseases through the use of radionuclides.
Detail of offered services here…
Gastroenterology
Gastroenterology is the medical branch that studies the digestive system.
Its study with Nuclear Medicine techniques can provide the clinician of the gastroenterological area or digestive surgeon with a very useful tool, given its condition of physiological analysis and the fact of using non-invasive techniques.
Detail of offered services here…
Metabolic Therapy
Nuclear Therapy consists in the use of a radiopharmaceutical (radioactive tracer), either orally, intravenously, intracavitaryly or intratumorally, so that it is captured by the tissue to be treated, trying to radiate as little as possible the neighboring tissues.
The different therapeutic acts include the treatment of the thyroid with radioactive iodine (hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer) , the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors, the palliative treatment of metastatic bone pain, radio-embolization and synoviorthesis, among others.
Detail of offered services here…
Pneumology
Pneumology is the specialty that studies the alterations of the respiratory system.
Pulmonary isotopic studies allow perfusion and pulmonary ventilation to be studied, especially in the diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism (especially when the patient cannot have CT-angiography due to contrast allergy or renal failure). They are also useful for pre-surgical lung quantification studies and for studies of inflammatory-infectious pulmonary pathologies.
Detail of offered services here….
Infectoimmunology
Nuclear Medicine studies with biological markers are applied to the detection of potential infectious and inflammatory processes, especially when other studies have not given the expected result. These studies are essential to plan therapeutic decisions.
When the markers are specific antibodies, it is also possible to detect pathogenic mechanisms or immune system dysfunctions.

.
Densitometry
Bone densitometry is an exploration that accurately determines bone mineral density. This density is compared with average values based on age, sex and measurements of the patient, allowing to determine the risk of fractures and the state of osteoporosis. The study of densitometries over a given period of time allows to study the evolution of calcium loss, develop a prognosis and, therefore, find the fracture limit, allowing the corresponding preventive treatments.
Detail of offered services here…
Ophtalmology
In the field of nuclear ophthalmology we offer dacryocistography, which is a diagnostic test that is used for the study of the lachrymal apparatus (lachrymal ducts and lachrymal sacs) with the aim of detecting possible alterations or pathologies, chiefly obstructions of the lachrymal ducts.
Detail of offered services here….
Angiology
Angiology is the medical-surgical specialty responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the circulatory system, an extensive network of «pipes» whose mission is to get the blood, and with it the oxygen and nutrients, to all cells of the body, and return it to the heart. We execute circulatory system diseases diagnosis and follow-up and carry out vascular tests that pay special attention to vascular risk factors.
