Pulmonology

Study of lung perfusion and ventilation, particularly in the diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism.

A medical prescription is required in order to carry out the tests. As these are Nuclear Medicine procedures, the scans involve the administration of a very low-dose radioactive drug, which is eliminated over the following hours via the urinary or digestive tract. Before any scan, the procedure will be explained to you and you will be given a specific information sheet. If you are a woman and are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding, please inform the healthcare staff before the scan. Patients under 18 or those requiring special care must always be accompanied.
Right-to-left shunt scintigraphy
NEUMO-01

Right-to-left shunt scintigraphy

Description: Study of right-to-left shunts.

Preparation

  • No prior preparation is required.

Indications

  • Assessment of right-to-left shunts by means of a whole-body scan with MAA.

Test duration

15 minutes.

Lung scintigraphy with 67Ga
NEUMO-02 · 03

Lung scintigraphy with ⁶⁷Ga / Lung tomoscintigraphy (SPECT/SPECT-CT) with ⁶⁷Ga

Description: Assessment of inflammatory and infectious activity in the lungs.

Preparation

Lung perfusion scintigraphy
NEUMO-04

Lung perfusion scintigraphy

Description: Quantification and assessment of the distribution of regional pulmonary blood flow.

Preparation

  • No prior preparation is required.
  • No fasting required.

Indications

  • Diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism (PE).
  • Study of regional lung perfusion.
  • Quantification of bilateral and regional lung perfusion.
  • Quantification of right-to-left shunts.
  • Quantification of secondary systemic shunting in pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas or right-to-left cardiac shunts.
  • Pre-operative assessment in lung cancer, transplantation, etc.

Test duration

20 minutes.

Lung ventilation scintigraphy
NEUMO-05

Lung ventilation scintigraphy

Description: Assessment and quantification of regional lung ventilation.

Preparation

  • No prior preparation is required.

  • It cannot be performed in patients on assisted ventilation.

Indications

  • Diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism (PE).
  • Study of obstructive lung disease, chronic obstructive bronchopneumopathy, COPD, emphysema, bullae and bronchiectasis.
  • Assessment of regional lung ventilation.
  • If quantified: pre-operative assessment in lung cancer, transplantation, etc.

Test duration
